We, the People of St. Edmund’s Roman Catholic Parish, are, and desire to become, a more perfect Eucharistically Centered Faith Community. We seek to express our faith in a special way through the education of young people on both the elementary and secondary levels and through welcoming the unique contributions of people of different cultures, heritages and family structures.

Religious Education
he Saint Edmund School of Religion Program is open for all children in grades 1 through 7 who are attending Public or Private (non-Catholic) Schools. We strive to provide a solid foundation in our faith and is age appropriate for children. Besides providing children with a solid foundation in the Catholic faith we partner with the St. Edmund Elementary School to prepare our children to receive the Sacraments of “First Holy Communion” , “First Penance” and “Confirmation” as a Parish Community. Arrangements are made on an individual basis for those with special needs.
Faith Formation
The Office of Faith Formation provides for the ongoing development of the Catholic Faith and sacraments for adults and children at St. Edmund parish. We also oversee the sacramental process and preparation for infant baptisms, adults seeking Confirmation and for the RCIA and RCIA/C programs for those interested in becoming Catholics.
Sacraments
A Sacrament is a summoning that was instituted by Christ, that brings us into a deeper relationship with Him. The Catholic Church holds that there are seven sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Marriage, and Holy Orders. These acts or rites were instituted by Christ himself for the purpose of bestowing grace upon us, that we might enter into a deeper relationship with Him. The word Sacrament comes from the Latin word sacramentum, which means “a sign of the sacred.” The seven sacraments are ceremonies that point to what is sacred and significant for us as Christians. They are special occasions for experiencing God’s saving presence. To learn more, please read below or feel free to speak with our priests on Sunday. Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist
The priest and deacon would be ordinary ministers, but in many cases, they need assistance in the distribution of the Holy Communion, and so the church provides for extraordinary ministry of Holy Communion. Typically, the extraordinary ministers bring the Eucharist to the sick in various places in the parish, but they also assist in the liturgical administration, often times assisting in the distribution of Holy Communion under the form of bread or under the form of wine.
Lectors
Lectors are those who proclaim the Word of God at the celebration of the Eucharist and at other liturgical celebrations. We speak about the Word of God as spoken to us not simply 2000 years ago, but spoken to us and proclaimed to us this very day. The lector not only proclaims the sacred Scripture to us, but often times will lead the congregation in intercessory prayers at the celebration of the mass. Put your oratory talents to work for the Lord and join the lectors to read the readings at Mass.
Ushers
Ever had trouble finding a seat on Easter Sunday? Either you were very late, or that Mass didn't have an usher to help people find an open seat. Our ushers greet, welcome, and seat parishioners at the start of Mass. You can easily turn your Sunday Mass worship into an act of service by arriving a bit early and giving people a warm smile and helping hand as they arrive for Mass.
